God exists as three persons and is creator of the universe.
We believe in one God who exists as three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that God is the creator and sustainer of the universe and rules supremely over it.
Humanity is created in God’s image and is valuable to God.
We believe that the first man and woman were created in God’s image and thus all humans have great value in God’s sight. But when the first couple sinned, they brought both physical and spiritual death to the human race. As a result, all human beings are born with a sinful nature, commit acts of sin in their lives, and must be reconciled to God through the death of Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit regenerates, baptizes, and sets apart believers for holiness.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates the unbeliever, seals and baptizes the believer, and sets apart the believer to a holy life.
The Church is called to be a witness to the world.
We believe the Church, both worldwide and local, should be a witness to the world. The ministry, worship, and teaching of each local church should creatively adapt to the particular culture it feels called to reach, but without compromising Biblical absolutes.
We believe the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the Son of God who brings salvation to all who believe in Him.
We believe that God the Son took on human form in the person of Jesus Christ and that as the Son of God, He was fully God and fully man. He died for our sins, physically rose from the dead, and He brings salvation and forgiveness to all who truly believe in Him.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God designed for our instruction and growth.
We believe the Bible is inspired by God, without error in the original manuscripts, and the final authority on all matters about which it speaks. We believe that the Scriptures were designed for our practical instruction, source of spiritual growth, and basis for personal and corporate conduct as the New Testament church.
Life in Christ
Christ’s presence in our lives empowers us as we live in this world.
We believe that sinless perfection is impossible in this life, and that Christians still experience sin and suffering in this world. By God’s grace, we strive to live a holy life for Christ in a culture that opposes Him, we can expect some level of opposition from the world around us, a reality that should not take us by surprise. God has made provision for us to live an effective spiritual life through the Holy Spirit, who lives in our hearts and empowers us.
Jesus promised His return, and we serve the Lord in anticipation of His coming.
We believe that Jesus’ promised return is imminent. That is, He could descend from heaven at any moment, known only to God, to gather the Church together with Him for eternity. Christians should live in a state of readiness in light of future events foretold in scripture. God’s future plan for the Church provides hope and perspective as we serve the Lord in light of what is to come.
